"In simple terms, the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is a basic clock speed bump from AMD's previous flagship CPU, the 955 Black Edition. This new addition to the family sees the CPU's clock speed increased from 3.2GHz on the 955 Black Edition to 3.4GHz, while of course this part retains the unlocked multiplier made so popular by the company's "Black Edition" branding, and thus making overclocking a cinch. AMD expect Phenom II 965 Black Edition parts to be slightly better overclockers than their immediate predecessors, although of course we'll have to wait and see if this rings true for ourselves, while power consumption is only expected to be very slightly higher for this new part."
