Well I decided to finally dig deep into the Zune 2.0 Software and get everything completely sorted out on my new device. After getting music on there I figured the second most logical thing to do would be to get my custom playlists compiled on the device since auto-playlisting is no longer properly supported (appreciate that).
I setup my playlists in my music folder and when I went to check the sync I alas found none of my .m3u playlists happily transferring to my zune. Turns out the zune software can't read .m3u playlists formatted through Winamp, Foobar, and other popular players, instead you have to open your .m3u in Windows Media Player and resave it, then retransfer it using the zune software.
The couple of basic tags WMP adds apparently are too complex for the zune software to figure out by itself. Hopefully we'll see this fixed in a patch.
