Description:
I decided that I wanted to see how vanilla a server could possibly be while simultaneously keeping griefing and stealing down to a minimum. After a lot of trial and error, I believe that we've done it! The server is meant to be a small, whitelisted community - but anyone is welcome to join! If we get enough support, the server will grow; here are the basics:
We do not have:
Griefing or Stealing
/spawn or /home (you must use a bed to set your home, this encourages teamwork)
Features available:
All basic functionality built-in (/tell, et cetera)
Constant administration
Various OP-level tools to ensure your vanilla SMP experience is not harmed
Backup / rollback system
Temporary world border (it will gradually expand)
Anti-cheat / hack
Chest and block logging

Rules:
The two golden rules - do not steal or grief.
You are responsible for the topics / posts in this forum - please make an attempt to keep up to date with recent conversations. An OP does not have time to restate, for multiple players in-game, the same information that can be quickly found by searching the forums.
Don't flood (I do not want to restrict water / lava) or make 1xN towers.
Lead creepers into water; they do a lot of damage and can be overwhelming! Water removes their damage to blocks.
Help repair any damage you see within the world. Similarly, keep extra dirt to repair any "moon holes" caused by creepers that you see. Repair does not mean just cover up, it means fill it in so the land is the same as before. Also, try not to "shred" beaches for sand.
Do not build on the nether roof.
If you are not clearing an area, always try to re-plant things. Also, chop down the entire tree - floating trees are not acceptable.
Through the appropriate thread in this forum or the in-game chat, you may request work and barter with other players.
Absolutely do not use cheating texture packs or block manipulation tools - the only acceptable client modifications are regular texture packs, mini-maps, and optifine.
As long as you replant and/or re-breed you can take things from public farms; unless a sign says otherwise.
Please immediately report griefing or theft incidents to this thread - include names and images if possible. And, for the whitelist, say that a player should report suspicious activity by replying to the reports thread on the forums; the EXACT phrase "replying to the reports thread on the forums" (WITHOUT THE QUOTATION MARKS) must be PART of your complete sentence answer. If it is not, you will be denied. For the second question, continue reading the rules.
If a home has been abandoned, you are free to squat on the property and use the available resources; please ask before you do this.
Spam, absurd displays of immaturity, or inappropriate behavior should be reported; for minor offenses you may be kicked. Repeat offenses could result in a ban.
If you lose items during a griefing incident, do not publicly request compensation - send an OP a private message or in-game "/tell".
If you are in an emergency situation and need a "/tp", please send a message or "/tell" an OP.
I have a zero tolerance policy for rule breaking individuals - I do not appreciate people ruining Minecraft for others!
At any time, you must, if asked by any member on the server, "<your IGN>, what is Zaphod?", whisper the response "artichoke69". Failure to do so will result in a temporary ban.
Players will frequently vote on new amendments or server-wide initiatives (propositions). It is important to follow the forums to keep up with these new rules; you are responsible for checking new additions to this section.
OP Privilege and Public Project Policy:
According to the standard definition of a vanilla Minecraft server, an OP is allowed to TP. The ability to TP is highly important. With this ability, an OP can follow suspicious members, help players in need, and quickly assess areas. You are joining this server with the full understanding that an OP may TP, but cannot use his or her powers to harm or overly assist your vanilla experience. TP requests will generally be ignored.
If a group of individuals is working on a large, public project, an OP is allowed to help "finance" and assist with that project. The project must benefit other players and cannot be a private construction project. This allows us to quickly create railway systems and city protection. Without this privilege, the server world would be chaotic and segregated. These projects must be planned, approved, and constructed under the supervision of the advising OP.
Finally, an OP may host server events. These events may or may not follow "Vanilla Survival" doctrines. You may, however, choose to not participate.
