/me figures that all electronic music with some sort of bass in it has become labeled as dubstep.

Why do all people think any type of music with
electronic sounds in it think that it is Dubstep?
Dubstep is mainly composed of deep wobs and
Huuuge Drops!

Again, people who don't care/don't care about dubstep don't hold as much distinction between electronic music. Think wine tasting. To some, all of it is horrible. To others, all of it is good. To aficionados, they notice a difference and come up with reasons why some are better than others, and rules about the differences.
