Hello Irashi,
I tried to find a computer for 200-250 that was custom and couldn't come close to such a goal as skyrim and video editing as to the best of my knowledge would need another 100-150 dollars at least to get there as 200-250 doesnt cover your needs. If you can't get the dough find a recycle place that sells used computer hardware as they can have some nice finds for very little sometimes. I hope that you can find this kind of place as it serves as a great odds and ends store for cables and even monitors.
if you want I can give you the parts I found but it goes over your budget so I don't think it would help if I posted the list.
nice finds sdm sad that lappy is now being offered for another $100

So what's the diff between these netbooks and regular laptops?
|
|
Netbooks are designed to have long battery life of 6 hours plus and regular laptops average 3 hours if your lucky. The main reason is the major components that are used such as a nice cpu and gpu the battery life goes down alot. With the netbooks its a very small and very power efficient machine as one of those I found for thehaggis had a rated time of 8 hour plus of battery life lol

I mean dollars but around 600 pounds. That laptop is barely better than the one I have which was £400

Well Hawk idk many places for good cheap laptops and if you want better graphics you step into a higher price range as the area your in doesn't really have those kinds of specs your desiring for that amount of money in laptops. However you can easily can get a desktop that can do everything you want but then again you want portability so unless sdm finds an awesome deal somewhere idk. I typically like to buy new components yet those parts have been in production for a year or two ago to save money.
The next best thing I can think of quickly would be this guy
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 834246628]
fyi just checked what 600 pounds is in dollars and it is $947.69 so this is something you could acquire but i think shipping might be a bit much. I'll look for English retailers for this model hopefully not out of your price range.

Hi all, wanted to get some opinions on this build.
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV
CPU - Intel Pentium (Sandy Bridge) G620
RAM - Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU - AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB
HDD - Seagate 500GB Barracuda
SSD - OCZ 60GB Agility SSD
Casecom JL-68 All Black Case
Operating System: Windows Home Premium 64-bit.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? It's primarily for gaming with some schoolwork on the side.

Well it looks good just the link for the gpu was the amd site but the only thing that doesnt quite seem like a good choice is the memory as you board only goes up to 1333 mhz and the ram is rated for 1600. So you might want to look at a different pair of modules like this pair.
Hope this helps and good luck on your build.

Is the board being a lower mhz than the RAM is rated for a bad thing? What's the problem with that?
(Thanks for offering opinion
)
Edit: Also, could I not overclock it to run at 1600 or am I imagining things? This is my first time building my own computer from scratch. Sorry to sound like a noob.
