So Mojang added a new game rule called ''Mob cramming or Mob Cram''. What it does is it limits the amount of mobs in a certain space for example:

In a small space only up to 25 mobs will be able to stay there without taking any damage so chicken farms and many other compact mob farms will be alot less efficient.

I'm pretty sure alot of farms on this server will be affected by this Gamerule and especially the xp enderman farm, because the way endermen xp farms are built they will die instantely since they only have 1 hp. So when there's no more space in that area the other endermen will die.

The limit is 25 but i think you can increase the number. So here comes the important part:
Do we want to remove this feature or keep it? This  is now a vanilla thing in the game and because mob farms are quite used here we might want to remove that gamerule. But it wouldn't be vanilla Minecraft anymore.

I'm on with removing this feature but what does the other people think? Let me know smile



I'm totally fine with having it if everyone else wants it. I just wanted to make this topic so people who didn't know about this now knows. But i prefer not having this feature.

If we removed it I think it would still be considered vanilla. It's how it has operated up until this time, so it still is the same. Changing that rule isn't the same as changing how many people it takes to sleep, etc, which would no longer be vanilla.

So I'm for keeping things how they are, removing the rule.

I wouldn't flat out remove the rule, but keep it at a reasonably high number, like say 200. There are times where bizzare things happen when the server is left alone for a long time (cough cough 1000000 pigmen outside my portal on the last map), and this can help circumvent that.

It can also help alleviate problems like someone forgetting to turn off a villager breeding machine and proceed to lag the server horribly.

i propose we do not update to any 1.11 snapshots yet, and wait to see what hapens next, until the official 1.11 release there will be a few more changes, so lets just wait for now

But if this feature stays, i do not want to keep it.

We generally don't update to snapshots anyway, only the official releases.

imho

if the rules are built into the vanilla minecraft server and require no external modification, I consider using said rules to be vanilla

I think all this rule is going to do is cause lag, do to farms causing them to die and drop items

Keep the gamerule... its made for servers to reduce lag caused by mobs and prevent server crashes. Maybe you have to distribute your animals to more holding cells and build a bigger room for mobs to fall in @ an afk farm but thats basicly it. No farm gets broken with this rule but they only work a little different now.

It just seems like it'd make more lag. Entities pile up, die from cramming, drop items, more die, more items just repeating and causes a ton of entities
