Continued informing of community

Snapshot changes:

Re-added the ability to obtain ice using Silk Touch and added it on glass panes
Ice doesn't melt anymore in the nether, it just disappears now

Half slabs of all wood types which now act as wood (Old wooden slabs remain of type stone)

Added editable books
New crafting recipe for book: 3 pieces of paper and one piece of leather in any possible shape
Crafting recipe for Book and Quill: one ink sac, one feather and one book in any possible shape
You can right-click it to edit the book
You can create up to 50 pages
Clicking 'Done' saves the book, clicking 'Sign' lets you choose a title and finalizes the book, stopping you from editing it, giving it a glow like on enchanted items and showing you title and author when hovering on it in your inventory
Books can't be placed in bookshelves

Added chat settings
Toggle chat
Toggle chat colors
Toggle clickable links
Toggle warning prompt when clicking links
Change opacity

Added option to rebind the command key, which opens the chat with / already in the textfield
Disabled cheats and bonus chests when generating hardcore worlds
Dynamic view distance
Added hover name for silverfish spawner blocks

Fixed some bugs
Fixed entities glitching through blocks
Fixed boats & minecarts not being one-hit breakable
Fixed the jumping castle effect when exiting boats
Fixed a little glitchiness with boats in SMP
Fixed cheats always being enabled in new worlds
Fixed automatically stacked item stacks despawning 5 minutes after the first item was spawned
Fixed changing the GUI scale crashing the game
Fixed /say displaying usage information instead of the broadcast to the sender
Fixed flying slowly in liquids
Fixed picking huge mushroom blocks (now give mushrooms), portal blocks, paintings & minecarts
Fixed raw fish, dyes, saddles, potions, milk buckets and tools depleting in Creative

New bugs:
The sound and music sliders don't have percentages anymore
Inverted Wooden slabs all look the same
Wooden slabs and wooden planks are named inconsistently

Books are going to be amazing in adventure maps. Also a nice use for leather.

YES!! Finally Silk Touch on ice is back!!! I knew it was coming but finally we can have fast item transport no matter where we live tongue . Oh the time-saving!!!

A friend told me that you can place ice in the Nether, then melt it with lava or torches and it will give a water source block, I tested it first and it seems he is a dirty liar. The Ice took maybe a minute and melted yielding no water. Pen Quill are nice, might want to start a library... I will certainly keep a journal maybe... I will definitively write a tour of the Hall of Elements and leave it for people to read while they explore it. Damn griefers better bring it back.

Like a whole new game!

Learned that Quill is spelled with two "L"s today. Also Solving Quadratic Equations using Factoring, but lets be honest, which am I gonna use after college?

Originally, when silk touch did pick up ice, It worked.
Before this snapshot, broken/melted ice gave water.
Now that they added it back, they removed it turning into water. Note the patch notes I posted.

Books are going to be quite useful. No more rooms of signs in adventure maps.
They would also help me with one of my plans for the server.

Also nice that, using MCEdit or an inventory editor, I am 99% certain you can choose the authors of books. Just another data value, after all.

What we need to do is put the server on snapshot 12w17a get a double chest full of ice from silk touch. Then we put the map back into 1.2 and enjoy all the water we can want in the nether :-P
