Yeah, I already got the mid diving rod. Thing's nuts. I've been grabbing the copper for transmuting later only, really. Figured it would be worth more than cobble and dirt, yeah? Right now I've been lookin for a diamond deposit so I can get started on a nethergate. I need to get to the nether to get the materials for a philo stone so I can really get to work in EE.

Nice. I had started up survival, but didn't get past my diamond pick before I got distracted and moved back to the server.
The IC wiki is also really good. Some stuff, like crop stuff, I don't really get. Focus on the power (Generator, cables, machines), those are the most useful.
There was one guide that was desined for technic rather than EE. It suggested that you wander until you find a swamp as soon as you start, to get rubber trees. Although starting out with just EE until Trans tablet is a good start.
I am a bit torn whether to use EE when we start. On the one hand, it is awesome. On the other, I have a reputation as an Engineer (See skin), that would be a bit ruined if I went all mage.

Yeah, I always though you would enjoy being a BuildCraft Engineer, I wouldn't think any different of you tho
. I love the Industrial Craft and EE in Tekkit, but if we do start a server, I think I will focus on Forestry and BuildCraft, since I haven't had any major experience with it, and it will be fun to do something new... I am getting so anxious for this

An engineer can also be a mage

I agree with solo. The pack has both, I don't see any reason other than sheer number of things to learn to keep you from learning both.

Okay, just felt I should say...TRANSMUTATION TABLET IS AWESOME. Oh, also, those of you who haven't hit the nether yet: Tekkit Pigmen are always aggressive it seems. They are horribly evil. So yeah, be careful.

Or! another great option... we just don't.
Appropriate time for loud shouting and cheering.
Blegh, mods are poo. I'd prefer what we have currently, or to go full out tekkit. I wouldn't mingle in both.
/me wonders where Kaya is at in the forums.

To be honest Schem, I've been wondering where you've both been. I haven't seen either of ya on in quite a while. Surprised to see you in this thread, even. I really like EE, but I get the feeling that any Tekkit server we run is gonna be super laggy without control on the laggiest things. I was just on Techworld's Tekkit server and the lag was so bad it took almost 20 minutes for night to finish.

Hey guys, done reading small lines of texts in wiki's? Or constantly being confused by the lack of demonstration when reading NEI recipes, or written tutorials? Well, I found a person on YouTube who makes absolutely perfect tutorials of all the Tekkit mods and many more! He does a great job with demonstrating what different items do and how to acquire them and use them. Tekkit just got a lot simpler and funnier (it is now a word). Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/direwolf20

Started to watch a bit of Direwolf.
I did a lot of reading the wiki on my Ipod while bored, though, while it is hard to watch videos there.
Schem, no one is saying you have to. It is a proposal for those interested. Some people are interested.
It is a good starter mod pack for vanilla players interested in trying out mods, because it provides a similar yet different experience.
If anything, it provides motivation and goals. How many unused diamonds do people have? The mods always ensure that you have something to aim for, and something to do with what you have.
If we disable builders, wireless redstone, and chunk loaders, and other epic-laggy stuff, it should help. Maybe we can disable EE's speed diggers too (Like the catalyst).

I don't know, guys, the catalyst is actually quite useful. However, after watching many, I can confirm that I am much more excited about the science part of it. I will probably be a scientist who dabbles in magic.
Also, I would like to somehow combine redstone and the other mods (I already have several ideas I think should be pretty cool
).
BTW guys, if we ever do make a server, I call dibs on making a giant powerplant and selling power
. This mod has me really excited and I hope we go through with it.

I think we could almost tell everyone to get on a undedicated server until we set up a 24/7 one. Or we could use an undedicated server and use creative to run around and test and use stuff...

If you guys want a second server just for Tekkit, we could create a monthly donation pool. Otherwise it isn't resource viable.

Well, I looked at Shady's hosting and it's pretty cheap, so maybe if we ALL pitched in...
We could also decide the amount of slots, because we may not need more than five, if not that many people are interested (we could do a poll of who would play on Tekkit and go from there)
Or, someone could set up one at home, as Kura and Harlson both talked about.
