Still looking for "optimal" tekkit server stats.

If I do try to host, it will probably be dedicated. My dad has a home server set up for backing up files. I might be able to try out something similar, via random hardware we have in the closet o' technology stuff.

It's not just the hardware, you need to have a high upload rate and a dedicated connection.

And, for reference, the Vanilla server transfers nearly 200 Gigabytes of data each month.

An upload speed below 6 mbps is barely tolerable.

My laptop sucks (3 download, 1 upload) because it is wireless, but IIRC my computer has amazing internet speeds, so hopefully my landlines can handle it all.

Haha, I went to that website and I can host a 2-man server including myself xD. Well I always knew my connection sucked, 1.43 download and .43 upload tongue .

Some of those offers don't look half-bad tongue .

However, if Kura can get his running, I would much prefer that, unless its not close to 24/7 0.o.

Will the proffesional package work? On that site that Shan found? (http://www.shadyshosting.com/minecraft.html) Might not be enough RAM, but I dunno, and 10 people donating three dollars is easily doable.

Ima leave this thread alone for a bit. I should be studying right now... sad

If anything, we can do some testing on a small server that is hosted on a comp (not dedicated) just to see how resource intensive it is.

Hey guys ! I am quite busy right now XD but i have found this decent tekkit server . http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php … 268.0.html The server has no lag only some when it backups the map. I started playing on it yesterday and i really liked it. The admins where friendly , there was no grief around and the map was clean and tidy. I was wondering if anybody is willing to join me ? The ip and rules are in the website. You can join the server (its not whitelisted ) but you have to wait for an admin to be there to give you building permissions tongue Hope some one joins ! PS: They are running tekkit 1.1 cuase its more stable than tekkit 1.2.5 so be sure to have the right version .

I would like to take a quote from that link and add it to OUR rules. The quote is as follows:

"I'd also like to point out that YOUR account is YOUR responsibility. If you get hacked and come on our server and break any rules, your punishment still applies. So keep those passwords safe!"

The ip is IP: nuttycraft.net , Hmm it seems the server is down for nopw which is a pity sad Oh well going to search for another one until this one comes up.
