Added desert-specific villages
A few minor terrain changes
Added a /seed command for showing the map seed
Added sandstone stairs
A lot of smaller changes and fixes
Made the stars slightly smaller and slightly brighter
Added enderchest, which was suggested on reddit 7 months ago
Crafted by surrounding an eye of ender with obsidian
Stores contents across dimensions and other enderchests
Contents are preserved even if all enderchests are destroyed, essentially adding a second inventory to take with you for the price of just one enderchest
Re-added original golden apple
Crafted by surrounding one apple with 8 gold blocks
Has effects "proper for its crafting cost"
   Existing golden apples remain unchanged
Added some kind of trading with villagers
Currency, emralds, can be obtained from a new ore, seen here
Stuff can be sold to villagers to receive currency
Using currency, various items can be bought from villagers
You can also get chainmail armor.
May put an end to non-renewable ressources
Added emerald
Used as currency to trade with villagers
Will be changed to green next week
Changed gravel texture
Improved boats
   Made them infinitely more usable
Actually made them only slightly better
Fixed lilypads breaking boats, they now run straight through it, breaking and sometimes dropping the lilypad
Made buckets stackable
   Only empty ones stack
Stacked buckets work just like glass bottles do
   Only stack up to 16

More stuff I missed:
Desert Temple. Has hidden treasure room with a trap.

Desert villages look interesting. They are made of sandstone
/seed is nice. Lets server admins control visibility
SANDSTONE STAIRS WOOT
Enderchest.
Combination of "alchemical bags" and "ender chests" from Tekkit. They act as a single chest  that shares an inventory. Unique for each player, and takes forever to mine. Doubles the rate at which you can transport items, is impossible to steal from in SMP, and won't lose it's inventory even if you destroy all of them. Seems like a great addition.
New golden apple is absurd. Back to 56 gold bars, but much better effects. Regen IV?!?! And protection?!? Wow. Also nice that they kept the old (Well, the newest before this one) apple too.
Trololol, emeralds are red.
Trading looks like an interesting feature. Odd version of transmuting, and nice way to get chainmail. It does detract even more from mining. Flatland survival is even more possible now, with access to trading.
Yay boat fixes!
Yay stackable buckets!

All in all, continuing to mostly enjoy the direction the game is taking.

The annoying thing is how far you will have to go to get the new desert villages and emeralds

Yeah.

The values seem imbalanced, and abusable with the random prices.
On the other hand, you can also buy off emralds from villagers for things like wheat. Gives you something to do with that double chest of wheat/melons/pumpkins/etc. everyone seems to have.
So I don't think worldgen is too much of an issue. Pretty sure villagers are wandering around spawn.

You can sell eyes of ender to villagers for 1 emerald for 2 eyes. I have 30,000 ender pearls and everyone has plenty of blaze rods. We don't need to generate new chunks, because I have potentially 15,000 emeralds just from my enderman farm.

And the crazy thing is, I'm probably one of the poorest people on the server, especially since they built a second enderman farm.

We'll have plenty of emeralds... I might even put some in the ender chest (to give away.)

Yeah I think that *might* need to be fixed.
Too bad he didn't have any in his inventory.

Decided not to give this a new thread:

New Snapshot - 12w21b
Removed the need for a minecraft_server.jar file to be present, even though it is not used
A better structured Creative mode item selection screen
There are tabs for different categories of blocks and items: Building Blocks, Decoration Blocks, Redstone, Transportation, Miscellaneous, Foodstuffs, Tools, Combat, Brewing, Materials
There is an additional Search Items tab with a compass icon which you'll automatically switch to if you start typing and a Survival Inventory tab, which shows the normal survival inventory
You can drop things from creative into the chest tab.
Brewed potions will not be included in their own category
The search bar works in any language
Emerald ore is now green instead of red
Updated language files to correct diamond and emerald switchup
Added crafting recipe for sandstone stairs
Added Stone monster egg (Silverfish blocks) to Creative

Seems like Mojang is giving Creative "the 360 treatment". I love how they're now sorting everything. That being said, the current menu version does make it easier for modders to insert their added stuff. I can only hope the coming API will have a mod for that, if Mojang hasn't planned. Still, great setup!

(Just a thought) Perhaps we shall see compatibility to play this game with a 360 pad.

Also emerald trading looks good. I should probably download this one.

In smp all enderchests will have the same inventory, between all worlds. (As far as I know.) Which will be great for trading across worlds instead of having to meet up somewhere in the Nether.
