Thanks to generous donations from users, I think it is now viable to push the server to a dedicated 100 mbit/s connection. But, what should the server limit be?

I think it would be awesome to have a large 96 slot server, but if there is a large influx of players fur to an increased player cap, I think we would need some better grief protection.

32 could definitely work.
But you could always extend the slot number if we were to get more players

32 or less, and yea somewhat agree with shan on the grief protection.

(but never add locked chests!! NEVER!!)

More Players =
More Conversations at once. (Think 10 gummy's at once)
Higher Chance of griefing
Rapid building (and some more noob houses)
More increase of map size.
Those are the Cons.

Pros big_smile (not all of them)
(Probably) More fun!
More interactivity with players
More people working together
More people learning to use /tell
Higher usage of the forums.

I liked the original 15 frankly I like a tightly knit server. even with 32 I would hardly know/trust anybody hmm

That being said, 32 sounds like enough. Having more players able to go on means that cities will look less abandoned, and after all, there's nothing better than more puny weaklings to destroy with TNT... er, people to help get started. Yeah. Go with that. wink

I personally liked this server because of the 15 slot amount. It's nice to have such a small group, plus i've only seen the slot amount filled maybe twice, but i'm not on a ton either so... but idk I guess if I would have to choose I would do 32 or less.
