It is all about The Legend of Korra.

Interestingly enough, Majora's mask accidentally doubles as a showcase of the idea of the Ubermensch. Created by Friedrich Nietzche, the ubermensch, to cut a long story short, rejects the norms of society and lives by his own moral code. How does this apply, you ask? Well, the game world's attitude is pretty deppressing and filled with all sorts of bleak terms, as the apocalypse happens in three days and all. Link, being a hero and all, goes against this mentality to save them all. His abilities (time travel, for example) and the nature of the main quest puts the kid in Green above the main mindsets of the game world, even rude actions (leaving a man/kid to die in order to give a hand some toilet paper!) are justified due to what Link is doing/able to do. Link even kills what's essentially a GOD (Majora) to set things right. Link even cures all the problems of the game potentially if you do all the sidequests.

Oh, and in Wind Waker, MOFO GOT ICED THROUGH THE HEAD. 'Nuff said.
