I typed that in 15 seconds, after skimming over it. I think I misunderstood. Derp.

Wondering if I should disable nether ores completely. They are too hard to balance, make automatic digging a pain, and have brought no use to anyone.
Shouldn't be too big of an issue in the transition. Just smelt any nether ores you have.

Nether ores that are "primed" and about to explode will show up as Nether Tin Ore in your inventory IF you mine them before they explode. I do this intentionally to prevent ore explosions. Upon placing this fake Nether Tin Ore you will notice that it is producing smoke particles or doesn't have the texture of a nether tin ore, but instead something like iron or coal. I am not sure that it won't explode in the nether once placed, but I am certain it does not in the overworld.

I don't like the emoticons. I'd rather have big_smile than some little picture/animation. I've been wondering where these :steve_insertexpressionhere: have been coming from... (I have the emoticons disabled)

Source: Experience and some various links I don't feel like posting

Edit: List of links was too long... tongue

Speaking of nether ores, have they been fixed Kura?

I was thinking of disabling them when I upgrade.
Given that primed ore is a completely different block from normal ore, that is just one more reason I don't really like nether ores at all.
Consensus on nether ores: disable completely, I take it?

Also, new emoticons have too much unused space. Just a bit of eye and mouth motion, with so much head. And the head matches the mouth too well. Just don't really stand out for me that much.

I vote for disabling them.

The idea of nether ores is good I think, but it feels as if this is the wrong way to execute it. I would really just prefer  nether ores to be like 50% less frequent. When you modified the nether ores to produce huge explosions I really didn't want to have anything to do with the nether. I was going to make tunnels, but the fact that the explosions are massive and create huge amounts of lag told me that was a bad idea.

Basically, if you can get them to work for you easily, then keep them, if not, disable them. They don't add much to the game anyway.

Divining Rod + Long Range Mode on Laser = 64 netherrack block penetration. If it flies straight. tongue

I too vote for disabling them . I tried to use the nether as a mine but with the smp mobs its difficult to fight and you end up loosing what you have. Its just much easier to mine in the overworld than going in to the nether. : P Learned that the hard way after dying like 6 times.

Alright. No more nether ores.

Also looks like NEI is major broken in tekkit. Time to wait for 3.0.5

Had serveral overload crashes just recently.
I am suspecting some sort of world corruption or unintentional lag generator.
It was refusing to accept any commands, and the logs tell me nothing (And are still full of spam when anyone logs in).

Should be working ok again. If it crashes some more, let me know who was online, how long since you were logged in when it crashed, and your approximate location at the time of crash.

Alright, Tut, it looks like somehow you broke your house. Server seems to freeze up whenever you try to log in, then kicks you and resumes. While you are trying to log in, not even "stop" works.
I suspect chunk corruption. Will try to MCedit it away later. For now, finals.
Just posting to inform the server that something around Tut's house is borked.
If you can add any info as to what messed up, it would make trying to fix it a bit easier.

Flew over to your base, Tut, from the origin.
When the wind towers came into view, client froze and server died again.
What has been the most recent things done around your base?

Side note: When I get close to your base the server tells me that it loads 5 chunks. Not when I get close.
I am starting to suspect a bug with you using chunkloaders so far away or something. Not sure. I need more information.

Gotcha.

So the fix is just me being careful and slowly removing items via worldedit.

Time to go look for a plugin to fix this, for when I update.

Alright, should be fixed. "Marked 15366 items for removal"
Your cobble chest was full. That is probably it.
Suggestion: Either use a condenser, or no chunkloaders near quarries.

Good thing I had nbtedit to move myself away from the broken area.
I think that has been the sole cause of all the can't keep up errors I get.

Oooo... Found a good plugin.

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/nolagg/

This might even help on the vanilla server. The chunk loader and the lighting fixes are great all around, while I might also add the item stacker and item limiter  for tekkit.

Will arrive with the rest of the updating next week.

I read the comments, plugin has issues. Its a nice idea, but need to wait for it to update. Will look more later.
