Recently, the PC I use to play Minecraft on has.. Been having some issues. It was a quad core, but there was a hardware problem that caused it to only use one core.
This was bad, because Minecraft takes about 90% of that IN the MENU. The fan would always go crazy while I played.
I am 15, live at home, and use the family computer. Since my mom knows NOTHING about technology, she assumes that "Minecraft gave the computer a virus". I have provided SUBSTANIAL evidence that it was a HARWARE issue and was not our fault. Unfortunately, she won't listen. I'm unlikely to be on the server very often as Minecraft is "dangerous".
I'm looking for a PC that is under $450 and that would run Minecraft decently. I don't need a gaming computer, just something that I can run fancy and have minimal lag.
I would appreciate any advice on how to get something affordable.

When I finish this project, I will make you the best budget build possible.
Do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers as well?
Also LoL @ Minecraft virus. Freaking parentals.

I have my own keyboard and mouse from a computer I had a while ago. My uncle lives nearby and he works for a computer company. He said he would try to find me a monitor if I was getting a new comp.
Include a monitor if you like, but I am really just looking for the comp for now.
Thanks!
EDIT: If I got speakers, I would never use them. I use my Turtle Beaches.

Just out of curiosity, when you say "this project", what are you referring to?
You making the site for mobile? Lol

Hey healthy spartan ! I think i can give you some advice
A videocard i suggest that you purchase is GT430 - 1gb or 2Gb (the price might differ a little). I personally have this video card and i can tell you its a good mid-end card. It will play minecraft nicely and other games like Cod , maybe not on high but on medium . A couple of other advantages it has that its supports all latest things such as Shaders 4.0 , Directx11 etc.. and its power consumption is pretty low which is 55w max . The card also has a quiet fan.
Also if you could give me the location or area where you live or atleast the shops you have around so that i can look and see if i can build you a decent pc at $450.
A thing i forgot to mention is the video card costs about 80 euros on my end but on yours it might be about 70 -75$.
Edit: One other thing , you sure that you cant fix your current computer? If not , tell me what parts you have cause you might be able to reuse them and not have to buy new ones.
Also here is something i found :http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-pc-do-it-yourself-geforce-gtx-560,review-32459.html

@ Cobra
Our computer is fixed, but it is unlikely that I will be on MC very much. My mother is paranoid, thinking that "Minecraft is a virus" or something. She knows next to nothing about technology.
My computer is fine, it was just a hardware issue that I resolved.
I'm looking for a new one because if this one kicks it permanently, I don't want to be blamed. Also, I might not be on MC much on this one.
I live in McHenry County in Illinois, US. If you cant find it, it is southwest of Chicago.

Well, you could do what i did, which was build one. You can get some pretty decent stuff (In my opinion) for fairly low... not like super low or anything. But I got a quad core and motherboard bundle, and then just used the onboard gfx (For a while, i have a radeon 6570 now) and 4 gigs of ram, granted we already had a copy of xp and a hard drive, and a power supply. But by now i've put almost 500 dollars into this, and as of today have a quad core 3.21 GHz, 12 gigs of ram, win 7, radeon 6570, and like 500 gigs of hard drive space (I don't remember, because I don't really need too.. lol)
