I'm creating this section so the tekkit community can post how many world anchors they have and have in use roughly 24/7.
personally I'm using two and that's all I'll be using period.

Gonna be honest here... i have no idea what a `Anchor' is...

World Anchors keep chunks loaded, so the world keeps on running in that area, even when no one is nearby
I had one, but I broke it because I already have 20 stacks of UU, and my 32 block breakers, recyclers, and tons of pipes started to lag me. Think I profited enough from that.
I might do one more again once I figure out how to do my new project.

Railcraft Wiki for information on World Anchors
http://railcraft.wikispaces.com/World+Anchor+(Device)
They're blocks that you place that load a 3x3 chunk centered around the chunk that the world anchor occupies (I think...). Regardless, you can check the chunks it affects by pressing F12 (Or so it says...).
They cost 3 obsidian, 4 gold, and 2 diamonds to make one.
When a chunk is loaded, it means it stays "active". You occupying the world loads a certain amount of chunks around you. This means that if you have a wheat farm with a world anchor loading it's chunks that it will continue to grow if you are online or not, or if you are not in range of loading the chunks for your wheat farm.
Uses? Maybe you have a windmill farm on a mountain far away that gets you EUs by teleporting over TP pipes. You would have to be in 2 places at once in order for you to get the EUs from point A to point B. World anchor lets you be in both spots. Its also useful for more volatile things... like nuclear reactors. If only have half of the nuclear reactor is loaded then it will likely explode.
Edit: That link is strange... the (Device) part is in the link, but it works anyway.

I use that link for UU-matter recipes. You know of any others Kura?

Lol, its Kaya.

Chunkloaders have been renamed as teleport tethers and function the same I believe. They have the same recipe as well.
I have 1 World Anchor atop my mountain where all my EUs come from.
(Noticed Soccer had a lot of teleport tethers and he didn't know that they lagged the game, or so it seemed)

As far as I know, the number of loaders does not matter, it is the number of chunks. Which makes more sense. The loaders themselves aren't doing work, they are making other things do more work.
