Lukeski has suggested the following rule be added:

"Unfinished structures may be demolished after 2 weeks; or, if located within an established town, structures may be demolished after 1 week."

Seems a sketchy rule . You don't know what the person is working on . If the person has been collecting 2-3 weeks resources for his build , it doesnt mean you can destroy .

OP's revision suggestion.

Maybe pass a rule requiring griefed buildings to be rebuilt or dismantled?

Okay, so a clarification on my rule.

The first order of business: I mostly meant houses, not structures.

Second: The first two images I uploaded are unfinished houses in NK.

The third image is my library, a rather large project. The exterior is completely finished, but the interior is not.
I don't care about the interior, just the exterior being finished within 1- 1.5 weeks.

I disagree, the only reason to be doing this is availabilty of land. I understand we've run out of plots in NK, but there is still plenty of undeveloped land in good biomes there, when i get back on, i'll make more plots.

the only time i like to remove peoples stuff, is when they build in a bad spot, or have abandoned it for weeks on end with no notice that they're on vacation or something that would indicate that they'd be back.

I like this rule. I have to ask, though- what will we do wth the demolished materials? Are they going be given away, or deleted forever? No way we're losing diamonds, after all. The rule seems really malleable as well- it could easily be turned to evil.

I think that the rule has a little flaws I think it should apply only to towns. And some people go away for a month and come back and when they do comeback, they probs. don't want all there work to be taken down. But if a player is extremely inactive then their house should be taken down, or if a person tells an admin that they are leaving the server forever, you have to make it so they take down their unfinished work

I accept the general idea of this rule, I agree with jrichard here on the fact that this should mainly apply to towns and cities that are well populated. He's not asking for people with more than one home to reduce down, I'm looking at houses with two walls completed and the other space empty, a frame of a house left there for quite a few weeks, those should be taken down. We could create a new topic that motions for incomplete structures to be demolished or left alone.

i agree that if there's no good reason (such as a vacation with only a phone as internet) for abandonment it should be removed

I suggest that the law be rewritten, made more specific, and voted on again.
