Tay, Dee successfully restored your entire Nether base!
Please be sure to thank him for being awesome.

its either one way or another like shan said, the only way we can get rid of the lag in the nether is by world edit or mcedit because we would die multiple times going through like 10+ layers of lava just trying to cover it all up

The thing that I like best about this is that if Pyro would have stuck around, Dee could have restored all of his buildings / loot.
We could have also tightened up creative use.
Yes, I am to blame for not giving fair warning and I really do apologize for that. But, that's how it goes sometimes.

^ exactly, i could have just done what i did for tayroe
but its more than just items with pyro, i think hes just completely against creative

I realize this is a impossible situation now. We can't go to 100% survival without a complete reset of everything, and we aren't going to have a complete reset of everything. So yes, this will be my last post. And deet is right, the main issue is the creative freebuild.
i will still read the forums from time to time.

I feel like you haven't done much to not make it impossible.
If players weren't allowed creative but the nether still existed, what would it matter to you? Why would we have to reset everything? Couldn't you just "deal" with it. All that creative did was help turn a month of work into two days of effort.

Left for the 2 week training camp. be back after!

I too would prefer a full reset (with the addition of NO CREATIVE, of course) but I am not making a scene.
You are a valuable player to the server even if you dislike some of its policies. Please don't leave.

- That argument can be used for every situation/build.
And that is why we can't use creative at all.

The Nether hub falls under public policy.
If you want to create something like that legitimately, why didn't you organize a coalition of players to do so?
The problem is that large groups of players aren't willing to work together to create structures that benefit the entire server.
That's what creative is supposed to solve.
It's the same argument that applies to modern government and public policy.
People will naturally tend to work on projects entirely benefiting themselves. They are satisfied with the status quo.
Most people, for example, don't want to help with existing towns. The first thing they say when they join the server is "lol, I'm going to make a new town".
Besides, I'm super sure everyone would like to continue enjoying the immense Nether lag we used to have. Thanks to modifications, we were able to remove all of the lava within the hub's area. That would have taken an enormous amount of time without modifications. I am sure that no one on this server would have dedicated their time towards that.

I have also personally been going back and forth on whether or not to stay in the server, there is too much going on in my life right now to spend time just playing minecraft. And seeing that the nether was reset despite the active debate about whether it should have been reset pushed me over the edge again, I too will be leaving now, at least for some length of time, maybe permanently.

When I asked if players wanted me to restore the old Nether, the vote was nearly unanimous that the new Nether should stay.

I am saddened that you are leaving, but please stop making quitting the server about our decisions. People seem to forget how much time, out of our lives, the OPs dedicate to this server. I am becoming very upset by the behavior of some individuals that are showing a lack of respect to us.
I keep this forum active, because I allow people to vote on rules and state their desires for the server. The Nether reset thread has been ongoing for more than a week. Did anyone complain then? No, in fact people volunteered to help Dee. The only displeasure you mentioned was Qwip losing his work in the Nether. Qwip, one of the OPs, did not, however, share this displeasure.
Any player that lost work or time, we were more than willing to reimburse. Dee went out of his way to MCEdit in Tayroe's Nether base. We do all that we can to create a safe, fun, and productive environment.
