Remove Donator Creative?

I suggest replacing donator creative with players being given XP for crafting - any alternative suggestions?
Also note that, public policy dictates no creative mode, only item contributions from OPs.
I strongly agree. Having an hour of creative severely alters the legitimacy of the server. XP sounds like a better idea for donator perks.
Another idea could be possibly having the rights to automatically gain access to the server by kicking a non-donor off if the server is full at the time. I only bring forth this idea because in the short time I have been here I have noticed that the server is relatively full most of the time. The idea itself is weak, and I'm not sure if that's easy to code but it's yours to expand on

Exp for crafting is easy to get without help, right now you can get 6-8 lvl 50s in an hour. Also With 1.3 coming soon it will be like 10-15 i bet. So if we got rid of donator creative id rather have it that if you donate you can get x amount of an item that is only obtainable in creative eggs, circle bricks, sponges and so on.
XP isn't the way to go. That is easy enough to obtain via the Enderfarm currently and with the new change coming in August it's likely to be even easier to obtain. It won't be enough incentive as XP. The items one worries me as well. When it comes down to it, you're still getting things you have no business in having with a vanilla server. I dunno, can we limit creative instead? Supervise it and only use it for demolition? Building stuff in creative is understandably, to me, wrong. That's a process you should go about with materials you have. Taking stuff down, leveling it? That's just shortening a long process...and, to be even fairer, they aren't getting whatever blocks they are breaking. Just start killing people after you remove creative to be sure their inventory isn't full of stuff like Ghast Eggs.
Why not create some kind of mega-resource farm that donors can be teleported to. Have it contain all of the renewable resources (trees, wheat, sugarcane, cactus, etc.), you can possibly even use it as a contest reward for temporary access. Another thing i was thinking is an obstacle course that OPs can use to hold race events in, you could build it outside of the 10k limits so it isn't stumbled upon as well, simply copy/paste it when you have to trim the map more.
I don't think having creative is a good idea cause then 1. The server is no longer "vanilla" 2. It's "suckering" people into donating. Me myself would donate to the server if it was a good server (which it is) not to get creative but maybe blocks, ice circle blocks sponges. Then that would "spice-up" the economy.
Just so everyone knows, you can't argue that creative isn't vanilla.
If it's in the original SMP server, it qualifies as vanilla.
If you're arguing that, then giving you sponges for donations isn't "vanilla" either.
Maybe, if you donate, an OP could help you by using World Edit for a set period of time? I.e., you need to flatten an area, move a building, et cetera (per Dee's suggestion).
