I should add that given the new xp and enchanting mechanics, XP needed doesn't grow as fast (XP needed per level doesn't increase by much per level), and you only need level 30. Something like 5 times less XP needed from none to full. Plus, enchanting tables always show max level on the bottom slot. Therefore, enchanting and grinding is going to fly by. Might want to keep that in mind.
(Also, because xp needed per level still increases, going over 30 is unnecessary, so overkilling endermen is a waste. Then again, you can pearl jump to and from the pile of fps eating xp to avoid going over. Random suggestions while I procrasinate!)
My observations on experience
956 exp for level 30. 5000 was to level 50 previously.
Seems as if Eff V was removed. Fort II appears nearly just as much if not less than Fort III does at Level 30.
Bow enchanting is very derpy.
Level 1-15 is linear, requiring 17 exp per level. Every level above that costs 3 more exp per level. (So 20 for level 16, then 23 for 17)
Level 31+ Is 7 more exp per level. Level 38 = 2000 exp I believe.
Furnaces are retarded, its hard to tell how much exp they give and don't give.
Fortune on ores seems to drop more exp. (I went from 23 to 24 mining 1 lapis ore with fortune III)
Redstone seems to drop more exp than coal (Fortuned or not). Probably because it drops multiple items?
It also seems as if dungeon spawn rates were upped. People are finding them everywhere, as am I.
Edit: When you enchant you're also more likely to get multiple enchants at once.
Branchmining is a viable way of getting to level 30, I just did it for the first time, got lots of resources and an enchanted pickaxe.
Whoa, double posted for some reason, and it was a copy of the previous post, lol.
