Bringing the 1.2.5 Nether Hub via MCEdit
Total : 51
i like the idea of a cart system that is on different floors, instead of 1 giant room in a circle, its floor 1, 2, 3, 4 each floor having 5-6 (more or less either way dont care) rails. instead of people searching for a hour where someone lives in the giant circle, people could just say "Floor 3, rail 2"! or something along those lines.
i like a mix between tayroe and the old hub. The circle is space efficient, but maybe a smaller circle, with, like tay said, 5-6 rails per floor, maybe up to 10? I def. think we should make a new one, its a new world after all its unfortunate deet had to spend so much time on the old one though and have it not be used for that long
I think this need to be a community project. No need to bring it in via mc edit. Deet can plan it out and head up the work on it and anyone that can join in just needs to bring supplies and start building.
I agree on the slightly smaller hub with maybe 2-3 floors. 8-10 on a floor would be good.
what if we just had a single floor, 8 paths, one for each compass direction and quarter, then after 200 blocks or so would be secondary hubs at the end of each of the 8 paths?
I like that but I was to visit someone or conduct a trade I would have no idea what tunnel everyone was down. I think that would require a big sign with everyone's names and which tunnel they are in
yes, that's the idea richard, but in my opinion, a large sign with everyone's or a group of peoples names on it, is better than going around a large room reading each and every individual sign
I'd rather not see a grid of mini hubs that aren't being used. Maybe mini hub it where it's a popular direction or where necessary.
I like the idea of a main hub at spawn. It makes sense there because it's spawn and everyone uses spawn. If we start other hubs, I'd like to see them built as a natural flow of where this server is going. Kinda hard to implement, but I just cringe at the though of mini hubs that aren't used or that are in spots that wouldn't even have a nether portal to somewhere.
when i think of the nether, i think of the scary evil chaotic side of minecraft, back when ghast still screamed 24/7 and it was scary. we shouldn't have a hub and make the nether FULL anarchy to bring back the nostalgia of former minecraft.
musik, thats why we had those individualized blocks on each door, we didnt have the nether for that long and people werent on during the anarchy, i say we had the nether hub for like 2 weeks after built with good use. which didnt give people enough time to use it and get used to it to be able to know where each portal was
I think a smaller hub with more floors is better. Each floor could have 8 tunnels on them, all labeled with individual blocks, and signs about who lived there, and which tunnel it was. The floors could be named after mobs or something, so if telling someone how to get to your base, for example, you could say The pig floor tunnel 3, the one with mycelium. And to tayroe, i hated the nether back then. It wasnt scary, just made you lose your stuff.
