not sure which thread to file this under but, today in spawn, in my house; i decided i wanted to have a small basement, so i dug down 4 blocks and found a cave system, as i traveled along i failed to notice it was already lit up, and i was bringing in a lot of iron, by the time i decided to go back to my house i noticed. This could have been an artificial cave. On the last server gummy (or someone else) made the batcave underground and got angry when people stole ores. I asked via the chat if it was anybodys no one claimed it. I am going to wait to smelt the ores, in case it was someones. it was to the left of my house (my house = X:282 Z:221) i brought tin about 50 iron. Sorry if i found your cave. ill replace it if the need comes.

That was me, not gummy.
Also, my cave was carved out manually and the ores were on the ceiling. If it was an explored cave, with ores in the walls, it's kind of hard to argue that you shouldn't have been able to take them.
