Hey reviewstash, I plan on getting a new rig and was wondering which cpu would run better on a 22" monitor, or which one I should purchase.

Also what motherboard should I get for under $100?

I would recommend something like Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache smile. Which is quite on the high end side. If not that maybe something Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz. I know that Newegg sells them. Cache can have a huge effect on some programs but most of the time it would only be 2-5% performance improvement. If the cost is not a big difference then i say buy it any way.

If you're into overclocking, the E4500 is the best way to go, if not then go for the AMD. The Q6600 might be a little out of your budget, but if you can afford it, go for it.
