Suggest stuff here!
I noticed that SDM's reputation has been downgraded by people who accidentally their application and were denied. Similarly, I noticed people who weren't accepted yet voting in polls, commenting on posts, etc.
Suggestion: Like the contributer and Staff rank, perhaps add something like Whitelisted. This rank lets you use the reputation system and post in threads under Minecraft server besides the Whitelist thread.
I don't actually know the funcitonality of the server, but more ranks would be better, perhaps. Maybe a donater rank too? And (being vain), a 1.7 veteran rank?
But mostly the whitelist rank, to lessen the unwhitelisted from trolling the forums out of ignorance, rage, or desperation.

If you donate, you get a nifty diamond icon.
I might add a veteran award; that would be very fun.
If the rage-spam becomes slightly more annoying, I will definitely change the rank structure.
There will be a whitelist sub-forum of the Minecraft forum, where new users will post a topic for their application.
They will need to be approved, as you said, before they can post elsewhere.
Good ideas!

Alrighty. I don't really know just how much the forums is capable of. I forgot about the diamond Icon, that's nice.
No problem. I actually mentioned this to verythinice, because I found the "Yar wat gramer? O kno, I no read rulez, deneyes? argblargRAGE!" both funny and unnecessary.
And I was just thinking keep them out of minecraft server, for those people here for the technology discussion side.

A Medal for the 1.7 people?
That sounds quite good.

Hmm, strange how only 1.7 people want the veteran status. Oh, I want it too! Perhaps the next major update we'll be upgraded to Super Duper Veterans.

Something on the top of the forums to display server stats (# online, server online, etc.)
|
|
Cutting down the IMAGE of the current server map, changing it to the old one and highlighting the landmarks.
|
|
I unsurprisingly like the 1.7 server veterans idea.
I also agree with Kura about limiting new users, I think it'd help.
|
|
Perhaps a list of the users that are whitelisted too?
|
|
Changed the whitelist application format and I removed whitelist application posts from displaying in the header.

Finally put read the rules at this link. Suggestion given. +1 rep? No? -1? Aw.
Also what's happening with the current griefing problem?

Can we go back to the isometric view for the map renders? I think they are much more useful.

Isometric does provide a height map, which could be pretty useful.
It does take time to render these though, so for whatever next version go ahead.
This flat does help us view what chunks are somehow missing though.
Flat seems better for navigation, as all distances are equal
Isometric is better for showing off landmarks.
Hmmm, and you can only see my wooden home near mosscow in iso.
However, stuff can be hidden behind other things in iso, and stuff can be hidden under stuff in flat (ex. portal blocks are hidden by the obsidian.)

It's difficult for me to work with isometric rendering without physical server access.
They take a lot of processor time, so when I generated them over winter break, I would generate them from a duplicate of the world on my laptop.
The server would have to be down for a bit.

Isn't there something like VNC that gives you remote server access? Or maybe a biweekly/monthly thing that sends the map to you.
Of coarse, I don't actually know anything of anything about the physical server.
Hmmm. If flat is that much simpler (I guess so, only has to render 64 blocks per chunk), I don't mind it.
I like Iso per major update though. There would be so much chaos with a new version and mods having to update that you could use the time to render an iso. The rest of the renders could be flat.
