Bug fixes
Ladders regained their collision box
Dispensers will place mobs instead of releasing the spawner egg
Removed portal/water flow/crafting bench item duplication bug
XP is now unlimited in Creative mode
Black hitbox lines on blocks turn off with the HUD when pressing F1 now
Mob Spawners show the right mob in SMP now
Redstone dust can be placed on glowstone again
Glass can't be picked up using Silk Touch enchanted gear anymore
Water is more transparent now
Mobs' legs now are hittable in SMP at all times
Wheat doesn't deplete anymore when used for breeding in Creative mode

General
Dead Bush can be collected with shears now
Vines now are climbable if they have a block behind them
Lava has a new sound
XP levels not needed to enchant in creative.
SMP light calculations are done by the client now
Added slight delay between death and the death screen
Sky color now changes with biome
Torches and redstone torches can now be placed on top of glass
Stairs can be placed upside down
Updated language files
Added at least one language
Removed a few profanities from languages

New world file format called Anvil
Doubled world height
Current maps will be converted and get 128 air blocks on top
Biomes are saved with the map now
Faster loading, etc.

World Generation:
Abandoned Mineshafts now bridge over ravines
Sandstone wells in deserts
Added jungle biome

Mobs:
All mobs:
Improved path finding
Better movement in water
Ocelot
Spawns only in jungles
Sprint most of the time
Turn into cats when tamed with fish
Don't take fall damage
Cats can be told to stay by sitting
Iron Golem
Craftable similar to the way Snow golems are crafted
Defends the villagers
Attacks all hostile mobs except creepers, slimes, magma cubes and ghasts by throwing them in the air
Walks slowly, swaying from side to side
Picks up roses and offers them to villagers
Attacks for between 8 and 20 health (4-10 hearts)
100 health (50 hearts)
Drops iron ingots and roses on death
Respawns shortly after death if 15 villagers are nearby, and there is a door
Can't swim
Doesn't take fall damage
"It's the moss covered guardian from Laputa: Castle in the sky"
Villagers:
They open and close doors
They will detect village houses and live in them
They rush inside their houses at night or rain and leave afterwards
They will socialize with each other
They run away from mobs
They will produce baby villagers after falling in love with each other
They will repopulate villages based on how many houses there are available
Children play tag
Wolves:
They can now be bred when tamed
Zombies:
They will break down wooden doors on hard difficulty and knock on other difficulties.
They are hostile towards villagers
When killed by the player, they rarely drop iron ingots, iron swords, iron shovels and iron helmets
They seldomly mass-attack villages
Skeletons:
They try to avoid sunlight
When killed by the player, they rarely drop bows with a chance to be enchanted
Creepers:
They are afraid of ocelots and cats now
When killed by the player, they rarely drop iron helmets
They will stare and wait for you to move after trying to reach you and running away a few times
Zombie Pigmen:
When killed by the player, they rarely drop golden swords with a chance to be enchanted, golden helmets and gold ingots

Blocks & Items:
Redstone Lamp
Redstone-controlled light source
Acts as a full block
Crafted by surrounding a block of glowstone with 4 redstone dust
Bottle O' Enchanting
Gives XP in creative
Can be shot using dispensers
Fire balls
Sets stuff on fire, just like Flint & Steel
Can be shot using dispensers
Craftable with coal, blaze powder and gunpowder
Jungle tree saplings
Placing them in a 2x2 grid and bonemeal'ing one of them produces a huge jungle tree
Others
Changed textures for dispensers and saplings
Added tree and leaf types for jungles
Doors have been changed to properly detect if they are open or closed
Double doors in old maps need to be updated
Now double doors only require the most basic redstone knowledge

Two additional notes:

1. Optifine now has "block graphic transitions" So now, for example, glass would look like one solid piece, with no borders.

2. I really want a bullet point list option for this forums. Hard to include sub-things, shift numbers, and give it consistent spacing.

There is a mosscow thread. I check all the recent updated threads. There is also a private message thread. I notice when I get a message.
If your offtopic message can be on topic somewhere else, then don't' post it.
To keep this stuff relevant, can you either just delete your post or delete it and repost it in the mosscow thread? Not being mean, just being a bit ocd.

But yes. I think I took the piston from it anyway.

I almost want forum admin powers, just to try to organize this. While I normally am not that organized, forums are relatively simple, because you have so many places, each with their own topics. But time and responsability. Sigh.

Yeah, about that kind of stuff...

Been waiting for the weekend to post a thread about it, but I might do it here
I have been thinking of making a small hamachi server running the snapshots on my home computer. Creative worldedit. Reason: Test out new features, and start building my adventure map traps and large builds while waiting for the world height buff. Also derp around, and lets me import any maps I want.

But, just look at all these things. This is insane. Jeb is listening to everyone, then making stuff even better than expected. Then again, I am more of a dog person than a cat person. I wonder if you guessed that.

Wow, 1.2 looks freaking AMAZING! CATS AND FIRE CHARGES FTW! I can't wait to use my ship's dispenser cannons big_smile.

The village updates and zombie sieges also look very interesting.

HOLY CRAP, did you see the stats on the rare item drops for Skeletons, Zombies, and Zombie pigmen?! I'm going to go on a Pigman killing spree again!

Also, it would be pretty awesome if Zombies not only could break down doors (like they will in 1.2) but if there was a game mode involving zombie survival (exploring a world wrecked by zombie apocalypse). That's just what I think.

Zombie door breaking is only on hard cosyn. What do these toggable Lights look like? Certainly will make mob spawners easier to build.

LOL depending on the forum, admin work can be easy, but that is if the crowd is well controlled and knows what they are doing. My forum is slow, so there is not much to really do, other than upgrade, add emoticons, add posticons, update the software, etc etc.... Have you ever done it before? (not that I am looking to hire you on... lol just want to know now, since you mentioned it)

Now that should be interesting.... This makes me think of having a power grid, if the lights need redstone. If this becomes the case, Kura I may need to hire your skills... if not, I may get by on my own. Never been good with wires... only lumber, cement, concrete, dry wall.... wait.... never mind... lol! But seriously, that would be fun if they worked on wires! Can't wait!!!

This is what was introduced in today's prerelease. I know some of its been mentioned already


Added new world file format called “Anvil” (256 max height and 4096 block IDs*)
Multi-player light calculations do no longer cause affected blocks to be transmitted to the clients, instead the clients will recalculate the light on their own
Villagers will repopulate villages based on how many houses there are available
Some nights in villages will be worse than others…
Added a redstone-controlled light source
Decreased chance for the rare mob drops
All animals use the new AI system now

why do you want this... it's not like stone brick where it's extremely rare to find.  There is ample amounts of nether brick almost everywhere you look in the nether.  Not at all hard to get your hands on.  Netherbrick Half slabs on the other had would be nice... Let them spend their time on things we don't have rather than things we already have wink

I love this update. So much being improved
and "Anvil" is going to be amazing.

And yes, I would like a recepie for brick. Maybe cooking netherrack?
The rare item drop thing is so idiotic. I really really hope it gets removed.
