Made a new topic since I'm getting the feeling nobody saw the other post about it.
Schem and I need to be tp'd off the roof of the nether. We've been up there for over a day now. Anyone wanna help?

Welcome to my world!
Suggestion: one of you kills yourself (give items to other person), grabs some obsidian, gravel, and flint/steel.
Then go to my tunnel, stand up against the roof, surround yourself by gravel, drop it on your head, dc reconnect, then build a portal.
You can also get someone else to do this for you.

Consider yourself lucky. I ended up there at least 7 times on 1.7. Half of the times after I disconnected near the lava lake at the bottom. And I couldn't build a portal.
Even got a grave in my honor in mosscow.

I made it off. I had to turn some bedrock into dirt (hint: pee on it), plant a sapling, wait 2 hours for it to grow, build a chest, empty my items in the chest, /kill myself, grab some flint and obsidian, disconnect myself back up to bedrock, find my way back to the chest, grab my loot, make a portal and exit.
Fun!

That sounds extremely convoluted and I don't think I could get out. Good thing I didn't get stuck up there, eh?

On the bright side, now no one can get stuck, because of the portal! Much better than me needing sdm every single time (or suiciding and losing all my supplies.)
Random thought 1: that would make a great place for a nether rail, because no mining involved. Lots of ghast spawning space though
Thought 2: 100% certain terrain gen will change for the world height within the next few updates. 97.3% sure at least 83.1% of people will want a restart for that.

I still want to rebuild that grave... poor Kura! LOL I honestly think that there should have been a hole in the bedrock up there, with ladders going down, but a portal on top is epic win.

It might actually be harder building a farm up there. Lots and lots of flat spaces for them to spawn. Better get them half slabs ready.
Plus, much more space for ghast spawning.
No digging though, thats a plus.
I actually had the idea of founding an entire base up there. If this were creative, I would suggest making another copy of our current nether on top of the roof. Portals and all.

just fyi... mobs aren't spawning up there... no sure why, but that place is as dead as it was before... only there's a new height to it.

Huh... I know that they did in the snapshots.
Either patched for 1.2 or patched in bukkit.

The portal i made is at 84, 332. Go through in and once your in the overworld go back through the portal and you'll be at the nether rail at my place. Follow that rail back to wherever you need to be.
