Thread for any sort of interesting minecraft stuff. Doesn't have to be you, doesn't have to be relevant to the server. Just something you find cool.
Block transmuters change the meta-data of a block. Silverfish blocks are an entirely different ID from other blocks, and use meta-data to store what it appears as.
And it is still relatively possible. Pistons. As the video said, you don't actually need that many silverfish. Just more = faster.
You can even have one running while you are pistoning over the next batch.
What exactly do you need pistons for? Moving the silverfish blocks or...? Depending on how the silverfish are doing it, it seems entirely possible to me. I don't know if any of you have seen Etho's Silverfish farm, but a machine like that one could easily set you up with enough Silverfish to get it working.
And relevant enough, his most recent video he mentions something like this. That is kind of what I was referring to.
I don't care about practical applications. I don't care about the work required to set things up.
I am an engineer. That means I am more than willing to spend an excess amount of time to build some huge convulted contraption just to make a relatively simple process easier to do. Think of, say, cars. Or teleporters, or electrical generators based off of walking on the floor, or a melon farm that fills a double chest per harvest, or a mob sorter.
And on the note of mob traps (and excess work to overdo a simple process):
Kiershar has returned!
See? That's sort of what I was thinkin earlier when I stated I wanted to water attached to a timer to flush 'em out every so often. Though, I hadn't thought of making it so fast. I was unsure of how quickly they could spawn while being flushed out so often, but it seems to work. I like it!
We have got to organize this. New PVP arena.
Not even that hard to build.
Although I am still in lava, and still have no time to nab my coordinates. And school time consumption. And MCEdit being resumed by the community.
I enjoy originality.
Would be so much cooler if the nether did work like this. So hard to implement though... Sigh...
