My favorite news of it all is the buggy mobs fix. I hope they start working like ssp so I can remove the horrendously big walls around my xp farms.

Otherwise 1.3 sounds pretty minor, which I'm totally okay with.

He removed Herobrine? There was one in the first place? yikes

I'm glad lots of bugs will be fixed, and am very curious as to what patch they will apply to cats (I'll probably think it's adorable).

Herobrine was never in the game. Most updates 'jokingly' say
-Removed Herobrine.

Specifics of update history are not necessary for playing the game. They are additional information.
The "Removed Herobrine" was the removal of the "Steve" mob from the code. The second one was accidentally left in the patch notes. The rest were all jokes.

And I like how they hired the bukkit team. Huge amounts of SMP patches coming.
Only downside is slower bukkit updating. Hopefully the Modding API will remove the stupid obfuscation (Essentially requires your mods to be updated with every version change) and make bukkit pseudo-part of the game.

I hope that transmuters aren't fixed... or at least they could be re-enabled in bukkit. I don't think it hurts that much to spend some redstone and a stone brick to get an unobtainable stone brick, right? big_smile (That's probably not how it works, but just example.)

1. It will be fixed. It was a simple mis-ordering in the code of piston pushing. One line moved is a fix, IIRC.
2. Also, crafting recipie for circle stone (and hyroglyph sandstone) coming.
3. 1.3 is not coming out for a "long time"
4. 1.2.4 is coming tomorrow, supposedly.
5. ???

Also, wasn't sure where to put this, but that hidden thing in minecraft?

It wasn't long ago that we saw mention of an undiscovered secret in the PC version of Minecraft; what may surprise some players is that the long-dormant secret was not a hidden recipe, item or anything to be found in-game. Quite the contrary - approximately every ten-thousandth launch of your game, the game title may read "Minceraft" instead of "Minecraft". It's such a subtle typo, and one that's apparently gone overlooked for years. "Minceraft" has been something of an underground running joke for a long time, so in some ways, it's not surprising to see it slipped into the game as a silent nod to the community - or at least, a typo made by them.

The team requested more time to work on 1.2.5, so the prerelease will be out tomorrow instead. Official release still next week
