Figured I might as well start this topic for any major projects that are going on.

If you're going to be building an epic that you'd like to share with the rest of us, post it in this topic.
How long it took to build would be appreciated, as well.

Feel free to post pictures or ask for advice on anything related.

As most of you know, I'm more of an architect than a miner. I started on my house, "Elmshadow", last night and laboured on until I finished it.

Time gathering resources: 2 hours.
Time taken to build: around 7 hours (with terraforming.)

Complete with a glass roof, and dark wood accents. I quite like it.

... sad
I was only on about an hour last night. I wish I had more time, so I can start my project set. Have yet to find any diamonds, and lost my stuff half way through to the spawn point change.
As most of you know, I am more an engineer than a miner or architect big_smile. Which means I probably need to mine out maybe a chest full of redstone, another of iron, and a stack or two of diamonds before I will start my projects. Also, maybe a stack or two of slime balls (side note, slimes have no more chunk restrictions, so they should be both easier and harder to get.)
I will have more time over thanksgiving break, thanks to surgery.
Also, you have inspired me just to make my own mountain, rather than searching out the perfect one. That would take quite a lot of dirt though, hmmm...

Edit: side note, yes, I will try to post my creations here. I just need time. Also, I am glad this website doesn't require a third party image hosting site.

Looks intimidating - how far away is that snow biome?

Literally a minutes walk from spawn. Hit the jackpot!

Do you know if it is the same one near the snow biome by the original spawn?
Actually, I could just wait for the overhead view to come back, which probably requires bukkit.
Also, nice job! I never really had the astetics required for skilled architecture. I either go for pure symmetry or pure funtionality (shove chests into walls and corners, crafting table floor, etc.).

Feel I should put this. WE NEED RAILS. Gonna be a few cities going on and rails like in the old server would be great! I'm also making a circular wizard tower out of black wool and stone. So I anyone could donate wool or ink sacs that would be helpful. Me and 9gummy have set up a small encampment about 1500 blocks from spawn, so It's tough travelling between them. Spawn city seems really developed now so If we could have some nice buildings built around x -570 z 550 smile that'd be great. Looks awful with my rubbish starter home (wood, glass panels)

Oh and I found a skeleton spawner if anyone wants to make a trap on that. Also cave spider ones.

Bored.

Quoteception!
I could make a cave spider XP farm, or someone else could try. It works significantly better if there are multiple spawners near by each other, though.
There was also my original netherrails idea from the original server. Those should come later, though. We should set up rails asap because of hunger draining quickly on long journeys, especially those longer than a day.

Update: Found a mountain that is 1/5 snow. Good enough, i can use pistons to push the ice. It is relatively far from people, but it is somewhat near mosscow (in other words, can you not expand too much in my direction, just in case. Current borders are good), and I was planning to hook up a nether system once I find my first diamonds.... Darn you RNG!
Shame I have no nearby dungeons or mineshafts, as far as I can tell. I wanted to make an XP farm, for silk touch, to get grass in the nether, etc.

Ressurecting a dead thread because I don't want to clutter up the forums any more than they already are.

I present - Pixel Art! Along with my new bridge in the background. Dubbed it all as "Moscow View" because it overlooks Moscow, my house, and Cerebz' castle. Quite enjoyed making this. Go take a look if you have the time, it's just outside of Moscow's walls.

Sethbling did make a baseball with ghasts. Ghast is pitcher. Reflect fireball at portals floating in the sky to ignite them. Not viable though, in our current situation.

Seems rather hard to do. No throwable can be reflected (fire charges might be able to, but they can't be fired diagonally). Some sort of redstone thing with minecarts or torches will be quite a lot of work.

If we did it with snowballs, the pitcher could throw a snowball at the batter.

The batter has to be hit by the snowball before they could throw a snowball where they want.

Then, an outfielder has to be hit by the snowball to catch it and if they don't, they have to run to the place it dropped and throw a snowball at the hitter.

To catch a ball, you have to be hit by it.

Otherwise, same rules as baseball.

If that made sense, it could work.
